ICC Cricket World Cup Update-10th March.

With 3 weeks gone in the Cricket World Cup, an unpredictable affair with teams in both groups giving each other trouble has been keeping the tournament competitive and action packed.  Teams have been putting up big numbers but also have been playing closely contested low-scoring matches where good bowling has been followed up with excellent fielding to limit run chases and give batsmen an all around hard time.  Fans have been treated with some interesting finishes and some absolutely superb batting performances.

Those watching the tournament have now seen epic and embarrassing collapses in batting, a 282-run partnership from Sri Lankan openers, a nail-biting and extremely exciting draw between India and England, and England losing shockingly to Ireland thanks to the quickest hundred scored by any player in an ICC World Cup by KJ O’Brien.  Australia and India are yet to lose a match so far in the tournament but given the nature of this turbulent tournament, don’t count out a loss by either of the big 2 before the elimination stage.

After a pitiful showing by Bangladesh on the field against the West Indies, an even more pitiful showing by Bangladeshi fans put them in the spotlight for stoning a bus.  But for the most part, fans in the sub- continent and around the world seem to be soaking in the cricket action and enjoying every minute of the ICC’s big tournament.
